We have a licence permitting us to hold wedding ceremonies at Belmount Hall.  We have also hosted receptions following marriages at Hawkshead Church, Cartmel Priory, and a variety of civil venues such as Brantwood.

Wedding Planning

One venue with which we have a close connection is Brantwood where our restaurant, Jumping Jenny, is situated in the former stables. Brantwood is a wonderful location for the ceremony, not only for the photographs, but also because Jumping Jenny canapes can be served with Drinks/Pimms/Elderflower Presse in the house or gardens, followed by a cruise on Coniston Water with Coniston Launch or on the Gondola.

The Venue

S. Y. Gondola, which is operated by the National Trust on Coniston Water, is a superb setting for canapes and champagne before an evening event at Belmount Hall.

There are excellent wine merchants in Cumbria for example Stainton Wines  ("Enjoy a little of our wine a lot, not a lot of our wine a little."), and an inordinate number of micro-breweries.  For example Barngates Brewery is within walking distance, based at The Drunken Duck. See the Directory of Real Ale Breweries.   Further, there are six pubs within walking distance of Belmount Hall, including the Outgate Inn, (above) which has Live Jazz every Friday evening.
